H06.17 is a generally available release version update (RVU) of the HP NonStop Operating System, Mission Critical Edition, supporting HP Integrity NonStop servers. H06.17 shipments begin on February 27, 2009.

Highlights of RVU H06.17 include the following new and enhanced functions, as well as general defect repair:

  • iTP Webserver improvements including:
    • Higher availability with online upgrades to iTP WebServer software if TS/MP 2.3 is installed.
    • Greater audit standards compliance with support for customer- provided log sanitization to meet Payment Card Industry (PCI) logging standards.
    • Greater logging capability with a new command line logging utility, STATSCOM.

  • TMF improvements including:
    • Greater application control over transactions by providing user-defined transaction types.
    • Greater usability by allowing SQL/MX objects to be identified by their ANSI names.

  • Measure enhancements including:
    • Ability to generate larger report files.
    • Greater ability to capture statistics associated with local sockets. Local sockets refer to the socket interface to the AF_UNIX family of transport providers.

  • OSM – new Guided Procedure for Data Sanitization:
    • Allows customers to overwrite data on disks that are being replaced or retired.
    • Supports DoD standards for data sanitization but also allows customers to go farther by running up to 99 passes of overwrites on the disk and selecting their own “overwrite” patterns.
