HP Web services suite of products rolls out

HP announces the availability of a suite of companion Web services products that are being released together. The new suite of products includes

• NonStop SOAP Version 3 software (SX21v3)
• NonStop SOAP Client software (SX24v1)
• NonStop Fast XML Parser software (SX25v1)

NonStop SOAP Version 3 is a new version of NonStop SOAP (for Pathway) software that provides improved management for customers that want to Web enable their Pathway applications using the popular Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) standard. NonStop SOAP Client software allows for easy development of SOAP-based client applications on the NonStop platform. For example, a Pathway application can act as a SOAP client to an external SOAP server, such as Microsoft® .NET or Java based systems. This capability enables HP NonStop systems to work in heterogeneous environments using a simple, common standard to exchange data. NonStop Fast XML Parser software provides higher-performance parsing of XML documents or messages.

The new Fast XML Parser product does not replace the existing parser. Fast XML Parser software only supports the Simple API for XML (SAX) API, does not validate documents, and has limited Unicode support.

NonStop XML Parser software (SX20v5) supports both the DOM and SAX APIs, validates, and supports Unicode. In fact, the two versions of XML Parser software can be used tactically together within one application. For example, where the incoming XML document is well known and simple parsing is required for higher performance, the new Fast XML Parser software can be called. When the document format needs to be checked (for example, it’s from an external source) and/or non-English text like Kanji may be involved, NonStop XML Parser software should be used. NonStop SOAP Version 3 requires the current version of the existing NonStop XML Parser software (SX20v5).
