NonStop SQL/MX is the next-generation relational database management system from HP designed for business-critical and real time enterprise applications. SQL/MX software brings traditional NonStop fundamentals—high availability, scalability, reliability, and parallel processing—to a distributed database. Nonstop SQL/MX builds upon the heritage and the many years of experience gained with NonStop SQL/MP—the relational database management system from HP that was first introduced in 1987.

Taking advantage of our heritage in parallel processing and high availability, NonStop SQL/MX Software provides:

  • High performance by employing parallelism, a data-flow execution architecture, and advanced query optimization techniques to achieve outstanding response times in complex query environments such as Real Time Enterprises, OLTP, and Business Intelligence.
  • Scalability by supporting databases that can grow to multiple petabytes of data while retaining full manageability.
  • Extensibility through an object-oriented architecture that can easily support new operators, data types, and optimization rules.
  • Around-the-clock availability with fault tolerant hardware and immediate and transparent takeover technology
  • Unparalleled data integrity through industry-leading reliability architecture.
  • Application portability through support of industry standards (ANSI SQL, JDBC, ODBC) for database access.
  • Lower cost of ownership through industry standard components and industry-leading online manageability features.
