The new release of HP NonStop Servlets for JavaServer Pages (JSP) software leverages Tomcat 4.0.3, the open-source implementation of Java™ Servlet and JSP technologies.

Java servlets and JSP are popular tools for implementing Web-oriented applications, offering the advantage of J2EE without the complexity of Enterprise Java Beans. NonStop Servlets for JSP Version 2.0 includes the new features of the recent Tomcat 4.0.3 implementation. Version 2.0 continues the tradition of doing deep ports of open source code, enabling customers to quickly develop Web applications based on popular Internet languages and standards while attaining the advantages of the NonStop platform.

Key features of NonStop Servlets for JSP 2.0 include

  • Compliance with the Java Servlet 2.3 and the JSP 1.2 standards
  • Web management that allows you to deploy and undeploy applications on a running server without restarting
  • Increased security and single sign-on capability
  • Improved support for persistent sessions
  • Support for multiple virtual hosts (IP addresses) running within one Web container, with each having its own set of Web applications
  • Improved logging and tracing
