HP NonStop S74 servers discontinued (effective April 2003)

Effective April 30, 2003, the following HP NonStop server products will no longer be available for sale:

• NonStop S74 servers
• NonStop S740 servers
• NonStop S7400 servers
• NonStop S74000 servers

Beginning in June 2002, customers can purchase the

• NonStop S760 server as a replacement for the NonStop S740 server
• NonStop S76000 and S86000 servers as replacements for the NonStop S74000 server

Beginning in September 2002, customers can purchase the

• NonStop S76 server as a replacement for the NonStop S74 server
• NonStop S7600 server as a replacement for the NonStop S7400 server

Affected products

• 1960-A: S7400 processor multifunction unit with 512 MB of main memory
• 1970-A: S74000 processor multifunction unit with 512 MB of main memory
• 1970-C: S74000 processor multifunction unit with 2 GB of main memory
• 1970-D: S74000 processor multifunction unit with 4 GB of main memory

Notes

1. Support for these products will continue for five years or longer, depending on local laws, regulations, and the availability of parts.
2. This discontinuation notice does not affect the status of NonStop S740SE or S74000SE servers.
