Network Security Processors

The high-performance Atalla Ax100 network security processors (NSP) provide the most secure hardware-based cryptographic processing for ATM/EFT/POS networks. Atalla Ax100 series consists of three 1U-high, rack mountable models, each with identical security functionality, but with different processing capabilities. They are designed as the hardware complement to the Atalla Key Block, an industry-standard advanced key management solution.

The Atalla Secure Configuration Assistant (SCA) is an easy-to-use set of tools to configure commands, define parameters, and inject cryptographic keys into Atalla NSPs. It is based on a security-enhanced HP iPAQ personal data assistant (PDA), with an easy-to-use graphical user interface that saves time and reduces human error. The Atalla SCA security engine is a custom Atalla SCA smart card that performs all cryptographic functions and stores security-relevant data such as cryptographic key components.

IT organizations with a complex Atalla NSP environment or experiencing rapid growth can save time and money using the Atalla Resource Manager (ARM) to customize their environment to the needs of their financial institution. ARM is a subsystem of Pathway software running on the HP NonStop server. The ARM subsystem is used to manage groups of Atalla NSPs and their host applications to optimize the performance and security of cryptographic operations.
