A new release of HP NonStop SQL/MX software is now available, providing improvements in compile time and greater ease of use in managing the database. NonStop SQL/MX Release 2.3.1 software leverages the core scalability and reliability strengths of NonStop servers and demonstrates HP’s firm commitment to improve programmer productivity and deliver unique value to customers.
Key features
- Memory Allocator enhancements
The Memory Allocator has been redesigned to provide more efficient memory usage, improved performance of compile time, and reduced memory utilization by compilers.
- DISPLAY USE OF enhancements
The DISPLAY USE OF command is enhanced to identify and display the modules and associated source files that require recompilation.
- IMPORT utility enhancements
The IMPORT utility, which imports data from an input file into a NonStop SQL/MX table, now allows users to ignore execution errors and continue processing records while error messages are automatically generated.
- Plan Versioning feature
The NonStop SQL/MX Plan Versioning tool supports a mixed-release network; nodes with compatible software versions can interoperate, allowing predictable access to and from nodes.
- Option to Suppress Automatic Transaction Starting
Currently, NonStop SQL/MX will automatically start a transaction if it is not started by the application. A new option, SET TRANSACTION AUTOBEGIN OFF, is now available to suppress automatic starting of a transaction.
- General maintenance fixes
