HP has taken on the challenge of providing a better approach, with a solution that offers a single system image—and a single management interface—for heterogeneous cluster management. By using the HP NonStop Cluster Essentials solution, system administrators and operators can avoid switching management interfaces on a per-platform basis, thereby lowering overall operations and training costs.

NonStop Cluster Essentials provides an integrated cluster management solution for heterogeneous clusters. The initial product offering supports clusters consisting of Integrity NonStop NS-series servers and, optionally, ProLiant DL (rack-mount) and BL (BladeSystem) servers running Red Hat Linux. This product is a plug-in into the HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) product and acts as a central integration point for heterogeneous cluster management.

• Availability: Built-in fault tolerance to support multiple HP SIM Central Management Servers (CMS)
• Scalability: Scalable to support clusters containing hundreds of systems
• Security: Secure communication between NonStop Cluster Essentials and the systems it manages, including encryption of all data

Performance monitoring solution coming soon

An extension to the NonStop Cluster Essentials product—called NonStop Cluster Performance Essentials (PE)—is coming soon that will provide a plug-in component to HP SIM and host agents to support performance monitoring of heterogeneous clusters consisting of a combination of NonStop and Linux servers.
