HP Operations Agent for NonStop (OVNM) software allows HP Integrity NonStop and NonStop S-series systems to be managed by HP Operations Manager, by IBM Tivoli, or by the OVNM Policy Manager, which is designed for Integrity NonStop systems management independent of HP Operations software.

New product names

Note that the updated product has a new name: HP Operations Agent for NonStop (OVNM). It was formerly known as HP OpenView NonStop Server Management, and the OVNM acronym remains in use for this release. In addition, HP Operations Manager was formerly known as HP OpenView Operations.

Key enhancements

  • Support for HP Operations Manager running on an HP Integrity Server using the HP-UX 11i v2 (or later) operating system.
  • Introduction of Event Management System (EMS) burst suppression, which can limit the number of redundant EMS events processed by OVNM. This feature reduces the number of event duplications forwarded to the management server being used.
  • General quality improvements and fixes.

Ordering information

OVNM is qualified to run on the following systems:

  • The H06.04 or later release version update (RVU) of the NonStop Operating System, Mission Critical Edition, supporting Integrity NonStop servers
  • The G06.18 or later RVU of the NonStop operating system for NonStop S-series servers

The software is available upon request for systems licensed for any version of HOV01V4 or OV01V4 software, at no additional charge, and will be shipped with new product orders. The update release CD (T0712 AAP) supersedes all Software Product Releases (SPRs) since the last CD. For more information, see the most recent manual set, due mid-December, at the NonStop Technical Library and check the README file included on the release CD.
