The HP Secure Print Advantage (SPA) helps you define and enforce your organization’s secure print policies
Government agencies, financial institutions, and other enterprises find that the ability to define and enforce a secure printing policy in a heterogeneous network does not exist today. Point solutions do not address serious problems such as malware, an innocent circumvention of security policy, or a deliberate attack on data integrity. The result is sensitive documents are exposed on the network from a client to the print server or from the print server to the printer. They are also exposed in the printer’s memory while awaiting print and in the printer’s output tray to be taken by someone other than the intended recipient.
The HP Secure Print Advantage (SPA) is a complete architecture that protects an organization’s sensitive print documents wherever they may go in the enterprise’s existing printer network. It enforces the security policy that defines who can read or print a document. SPA’s end-to-end solution consists of secure print servers, secure printer cards, and intelligent client applications that ensure that no sensitive documents are ever exposed on a network or a printer. Users are securely authenticated when they send documents and pick them up at the printer. Secure printer cards authenticate printer applications so that they are not compromised by viruses or Trojan horses. The solution does not force an organization to make major changes to its existing network to introduce a secure architecture.
