Processing 40 million calls and 200,000 invoices a day, Belgacom’s major challenge is the huge job of tracking customer calls and then billing correct amounts.
To achieve a highly available, flexible hardware platform for mission critical billing systems, the telecom provider recently replaced its aging HP NonStop systems for the new HP Integrity NonStop servers. Belgacom expanded its environment into two data centers to ensure the utmost availability and security of data and applications. The new system is not only faster but can easily absorb an increase in data volume without affecting availability. “HP Integrity NonStop servers enable us to achieve our targets for availability, stability, and reliability and therefore provide an excellent platform for our mission critical billing application,” reports Bruno Dujardin, Belgacom systems manager.
