H06.08 is a generally available release version update (RVU) of the HP NonStop Operating System, Mission Critical Edition, supporting HP Integrity NonStop servers, with shipments beginning on November 17, 2006.
Highlights of RVU H06.08 include the following new and enhanced functions, as well as defect repair:
- Versatile I/O enclosure replaces Input/Output Adapter Module enclosure in Integrity NonStop NS14000 and NS1000 systems.
- Support added for security Access Control Lists (ACLs) for Open System Services (OSS) regular files, directories, FIFO special files, and bound AF_UNIX sockets.
- Safeguard has been updated to support longer passwords and OSS ACLs.
- The default values of INODECACHE and LINKCACHE attributes of the OSS Name Server are changed from 4,096 to 64,000.
- The TNS/E C compiler now supports a subset of features from the new C99 standard.
- COBOL supports dynamic memory allocation in addition to a subset of features from the latest COBOL 2002 standard.
- The TNS/E native C/C++ and epTAL compilers now generate non-preemptable object code by default.
- Several improvements to Native Inspect software (refer to the H06.08 Release Version Update Compendium in the NonStop Technical Library [NTL] for additional information).
- TCM (T6945) and MeasTCM (T6042) now support processor types for Integrity NonStop NS14000 and NS1000 servers.
- iTP WebServer supports new features like UTF-8 encoded certificate generation requests, validation, and more.
