HP announces the immediate availability of HP NonStop Transaction Management Facility (NonStop TMF) Version 3.4 software, with the generally available Release Version Update (RVU) H06.06 of the HP NonStop Operating System, Mission Critical Edition.
In this release, NonStop TMF Software offers improved system availability: more than two TMP CPUs can be configured, allowing a backup TMP to be created even if one of the original TMP CPUs fails.
In addition, this version features enhanced selected limits and default parameters to keep pace with the increasing size and speed of disks and CPUs. There are also better user controls, new commands and documentation provided, along with internal foundational improvements for new features targeted for later releases.
Specifically, NonStop TMF 3.4 software improves various default values, including tape block size, audit trail file size, and extended segment sizes. Three new options for the ALTER TMF command have been implemented, along with associated INFO TMF options.
Note that the STATUS TMF command now displays heap usage and transaction sequence number limits. Various improvements are also available in TMF Recovery, to add new protections to resources shared by multiple threads. In addition, some TMFCOM commands previously unavailable to customers are now usable and documented.
This version includes work to further support network transactions, a number of improvements based on user-reported errors, and an updated Disaster Recovery on Enterprise Storage Disks support note.
For further details, please view the most recent manual set on the NonStop Technical Library located at www.hp.com/go/ntl, or contact your local account team.
NonStop TMF Software is bundled with the base operating system and customers will receive these new features automatically when they order a RVU H06.06 site update tape (SUT).
